A sprawling backyard landscape just north of Waterloo Ontario was completed in multiple phases. The clients wanted a purpose space that would attract wildlife, be suitable for entertaining, and maintain it’s natural beauty throughout the seasons. The mature gardens are populated with several species native to Waterloo Region. The narrow walking path cuts through the tall grasses and is neighboured by the bubbling brook which runs through the property feeding into the pond at the wood’s edge. A small covered deck is the perfect place to spend summer afternoons watching blue herons come and feed in the shallow water. Sitting at the top of the property is an Ipe deck with steel cable railings that overlooks the entire property. Capable of entertaining large groups it provides a beautiful view both day, and night as the wooded area behind the pond lights up. As the seasons turn, and the snow flies, the property takes a new, but uniquely beautiful character.
