This client purchased a new home and after spending time renovating the inside they contacted us to design their landscape. The intention for this project was to create an area that could easily entertain guests as well as provide relaxation from the busy work week. The end result would include a modern, angled pergola with clear acrylic plastic inserts to protect users from the elements. Within this space a double-sided fireplace was installed as a focal piece and can be enjoyed from both living areas. A drop down projector screen was installed above the fireplace for outdoor movies along with outdoor lighting. The existing deck was reconfigured with new steps, glass railings and composite decking. The design wouldn’t be complete without a stone outdoor kitchen fully equipped with a bbq, sink and fridge. The lower living area is created with Travertine stone slabs with Borealis banding. This creates the illusion of stone and wood together. The existing hot tub was relocated to this area and a wood and glass privacy fence surrounds it to create a secluded sanctuary . A curved seating wall was also implemented into this space to create a secondary ‘nook’ for users to gather. Jumbo stone steppers with granite pebbles in between guide users from the living area to the lawn and basketball court. All the hardscape is softened with many low maintenance multi-seasonal gardens.
